» » Hon. Dilan Perera, Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion & Welfare and other delegates from Sri Lanka explore modes of cooperation with CPSC

A delegation headed by Hon. Dilan Perera, Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion & Welfare of Sri Lanka visited the Colombo Plan Staff College on January 7, 2014 to be familiar with the programs and activities of the Staff College and to explore areas of cooperation, particularly in capacity building of Labor Attachés of Sri Lankan embassies.

Through a formal reception and meeting at the conference room, CPSC Director General Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub led the CPSC team in welcoming the group, which was also comprised of Mr. Nissanka N. Wijeratne, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion & Welfare; Mrs. H.M.G.R.R.K. Wijeratne Mendis, Charge d’ Affaires and Ms. P.R.B.W. Cooray, Second Secretary, Embassy of Sri Lanka in Manila; and Ms. K.N. Abeyguwardena, Coordinating Secretary to the Honorable Minister.

The program started with the Welcome Remarks by the Director General followed by the Special Remarks by the Honorable Minister. In his speech, Hon. Perera recognized the amount of work done by CPSC in the area of training and also thanked CPSC for the warm reception.

The Director General delivered a short presentation about the role, programs, services and benefits of CPSC to inform the guests further of the current programs and activities particularly for Sri Lankan nationals. The presentation was complemented by the briefer video showing. A lively discussion ensued and tokens were presented before concluding the program.
