The CPSC DG oriented the new Secretary with the main
mandate of CPSC, which is to build the capacity of technical and vocational
education and training (TVET) personnel through regional and in-country
programs, conferences, seminars, publications, and research. The DG also walked
him through the history of CPSC programs for Sri Lanka over the years and
emphasized the need for participants to create a multiplier effect to maximize
the benefit from these programs. This in turn should be monitored by the
Liaison Office and departments concerned in member countries.
Dr. Naim reassures Mr. Thilakarathna that
CPSC as an intergovernmental organization has been in existence for 39 years
and still growing from strength to strength with the support of member
countries. It has also brought so much benefit to the member countries through
south-south cooperation.
