His Excellency Mohsin Razi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Philippines and CPSC Governing Board Chairman, in his inaugural address.

Looking forward to the year 2018, CPSC gears up for another five years of envisioning its catalytic role in enhancing TVET systems in the Asia Pacific region and as it looks forward to revitalizing its services and operations in addressing fast changing TVET trends and issues in the globalized era.

Following the initial phase of its corporate planning activities through a Corporate Plan Survey completed last October 15, 2012, CPSC marked the most significant and critical juncture in its history, as it carried out the second phase of its strategic CorPlanning through the Regional Program on Corporate Planning for TVET System from November 5 to 9, 2012.

Living up to a consultative process of planning CPSC’s roadmap towards 2018, the 16 representatives from 15 member countries convened at CPSC, Manila to review and validate the status of CPSC’s CorPlan 2008-2013 and reasses responsiveness and relevance of its services. Representatives from member countries comprised of policy makers, faculty members and administrators from different TVET institutions from CPSC member countries exchanged ideas and viewpoints on developing a corporate plan for a TVET organization and the process of strategic planning for repositioning TVET in the globalized economy. Upon consultations and further discussions on future directions and aspirations of CPSC for the next five years (2013-2018) the delegates completed the formulation of a Draft Corporate Plan. The draft would be submitted for further validation and final approval by the CPSC Governing Board.

His Excellency Mohsin Razi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Philippines and CPSC Governing Board Chairman, inaugurated the Regional Program. In his inaugural address, he welcomed all the participants and conveyed his sincere gratitude to all member countries represented for the continued commitment in making inter-governmental cooperation in TVET work for the benefit of the region. He stated that the “Corporate Planning is significant in leading an institution from where it is at present and where it would like to be in the future”. He then encouraged every member country to continue to play its role in renewing the commitment to CPSC, be it in terms of expertise, collaboration in programs, sharing of ideas, membership contributions and participation in wide spectrum of activities.

The CPSC Director General Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub led the CPSC team in the overall implementation of this significant event as Program Supervisor. He expressed high appreciation both to the CPSC Governing Board Chairman and to the representatives of the different member countries for sparing their precious time in taking part in the first Regional Program designed to prepare a draft Corporate Plan that will serve as a blueprint of CPSC for the next five years. He said that “Your inputs based on your experiences are really important in preparing the draft. We are relying on your wisdom to review the previous corporate plan and analyze current trends in TVET in the light of emerging issues and challenges in the region.” He wished all the participants a very productive visit and memorable stay in CPSC and in the Philippines.

CPSC Faculty Members Dr. Hazrat Hussain, who acted as Program Coordinator and Resource Person with Engr. Jahangir Alam as Co-Coordinator handled the facilitation and implementation of the program. Dr. Romulita Alto, CPSC’s External Expert and Research Consultant at the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) also provided her expertise and guidance in the drafting of the CorPlan as a Resource Person.
