On June 5, 2012, CPSC hosted a simple but heartfelt Farewell Dinner in honor of His Excellency Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines and CPSC Governing Board (GB) Chairman for FY 2010 -2011, who is leaving his post as Ambassador of Malaysia.

During the dinner, CPSC Director General Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub, led CPSC Faculty and Staff in paying tribute to the former CPSC GB Chairman’s significant contributions to CPSC’s pursuits and endeavors. His active involvements in the College include his honorable presence to one of the biggest international events CPSC had organized, the International Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in TVET held in 2010; as a speaker of the CPSC Corporate Plan’s Midterm Review in August 2010; smooth turn-over of leadership in CPSC from former Director General to Officer-in-Charge and then to the current Director General, to name a few. Not to mention his excellent leadership and guidance to CPSC in convening crucial meetings and facilitating review and approval of CPSC’s operational plans and activities during GB sessions.

Dr. Naim conveyed his deep gratitude to Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim for all his great contributions to the College not only during his term as GB Chairman but even after his term, when he took time and effort to extend his assistance to CPSC in exploring renewal of membership of former member countries Indonesia and Iran, owing to his very good diplomatic relations with different countries. In response, Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim expressed warmest thanks to the Director General, Faculty and Staff. He said that his involvement as Chairman and member in an educational institution like CPSC had been a “nostalgic” and rewarding experience for him, having been an educationist since the beginning of his professional career in Malaysia prior to his career in foreign service. An educator at heart, he said that CPSC will always be close to his heart and its advocacy in TVET will continue to motivate him to contribute to the field of education particularly in TVET. He added that CPSC had been second home for him and his family in Manila.

The Ambassador received a token of appreciation from the CPSC Director General. CPSC bade goodbye to the Ambassador and his wife Madam Datin Seri Dato’Zainab Abdul Kader and wished their safe journey back home. Dr. Thamrongsak Moenjak, former CPSC Director and a number of Staff from the Embassy of Malaysia were present as guests during the event.
